The City of Austin proclaimed November 6, 2025 “Alex Coke Day”, honoring Alex’s musical contributions to Austin!
“Alex Coke is a Native Texan and renaissance man of Jazz and World Music. His command of the tenor sax and flute have made him a decorated master improviser. As a long time local musician, he is a member and former committee member of the Austin Musician’s Union, advocating for fair wages for musicians."

Playing alongside Alex are AFM 433 members Masumi Jones on drums and Michael Stevens on bass.

Alex has been a member of the AFM for 40 years. Congrats, Alex!
