Musicians to speak in favor of Austin Parks and Recreation Board
Recommendation at Austin Music Commission Meeting, July 5th, 6:30pm
The Musicians who have performed at The South By Southwest Music Festival continue to be insulted and disappointed by the Festival’s insincere attempt at updating artist compensation. South By Southwest takes more from Musicians than it gives.

The Austin Federation of Musicians AFM Local 433 Festival Committee has voted to support Austin Music Commission’s discussion and adoption of Austin Parks and Recreation Board’s Recommendation that the City of Austin Support Fair Pay for SXSW Performing Artists (June 26th 2023), without changes, at The Music Commission’s meeting on Wednesday, July 5th 2023, 6:30pm at Austin Energy Mueller Headquarters, Room 1111A-B, 4815 Mueller Blvd. Austin TX 78723.Union officials and members of The Austin Federation of Musicians, AFM Local 433, will be in attendance at the Music Commission Meeting, along with advocacy groups and other musicians.
